Studies: CVSA is inaccurate
INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - The debate continues. More than 1,400 police departments in the United States have purchased the controversial Computer Voice Stress Analyzer, or CVSA, but multiple studies are now proving the machine is inaccurate. As opposed to a polygraph, which measures changes in a person's heart rate, perspiration level, and breathing, the CVSA measures slight changes in a suspect's voice called "micro tremors."
