Dr Keith Ashcroft BA(Hons), MSc, PhD, AFBPsS

Dr Ashcroft graduated with Honours from the University of Wales, Cardiff in Psychology and Education, and since completed a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology, by research. He has subsequently pursued his research interests by investigating various brain related biological markers criminal behaviour and received his Doctorate degree awarded by the University of Edinburgh Medical School. His professional work now encompasses the provision of forensic psychological reports in both civil and criminal cases, and he regularly gives oral evidence in Court.He has been instructed during the past 8 years by the Crown and Appeal Courts, Sheriff Courts and the High Court of Justiciary throughout Scotland; and by the Crown Prosecution Service and criminal defence lawyers in England and Wales.

Dr Ashcroft is listed in the 'Directory of Expert Witnesses' which is maintained by the British Psychological Society, the representative and regulatory body for psychologists in the UK. He has given evidence in cases of homicide, sexual abuse and other violent crimes. He is also a member in good standing of the National Association for the Treatment of Abusers, and has been consulted with respect to the provision of sex offender treatment programmes in the UK.

He is an active member of research groups who are discovering cutting edge solutions to the detection of deception and the management of risk in relation to predatory sexual offenders.

Dr Ashcroft is also a Board member of the prestigious British and European Polygraph Association.
